it has been a long winter at steele farm but there are finally signs of life.  the first daffodils burst forth last weekend and the trees are beginning to leaf out.  after one of the best snow years in recent memory, winter was reluctant to let go, but warmer days are here.  the back roads have finally dried up and summer is on the horizon.  

the next 6 weeks can be some of the most beautiful in vermont.  the days are warm - but not hot, we are treated to a cascade of plants flowering for the first time, and the streams and brooks are flowing freely.  it's a great time to get out and explore the trails and mountians on foot or on mountain bike.  back roads and valley floors can also provide great road biking adventures.  restaurants are also beginning to serve locally grown produce as the early starts in greenhouses and high tunnels are beginning to produce.  our world is coming alive from the long winter and everone is anxious and excited to spend time outside in the sun.  

late spring and early summer is a great time to visit vermont and enjoy all it has to offer.
